Our second term has begun with a trip to the continent of Africa! The class have written and presented projects on an African country of their choice. We have learned about life in Uganda from staff member Sylvestry. In art lessons, we made beautiful drawings of the Maasai tribe of Kenya and constructed huts inspired by the colourful Ndbele huts of South Africa.
History - Nelson Mandela
We've learned a lot about this inspirational South African. We discovered that while in prison Mandela was offered his freedom in return for agreeing to give up the fight against apartheid. The class enjoyed roleplaying this moment and other key events in Mandela's life in our drama lessons.
English - Shape Poems
We've had fun writing poems not only about our favourite things but in their shape too!
Maths - Fractions
Fractions has been the name of the game in Maths lately! We spent time identifying different fractions of a metre when exploring length!
