Click on MP3 link above to hear the
interview from East Coast FM about the C.O.W.
C.O.W (cycle on Wednesdays) is a national initiative that encourages pupils, parents and teachers to cycle to school. It's main aim is to promote a cycling culture within the school and wider community.
Children of primary school age should always use cycle paths or cycle on footpaths where there is no cycle path.
The Green School Committee will speak to all classes about cycle safety. Parents and guardians are asked to ensure that their child is safe cycling to school. Parents may wish to cycle with their child or walk along with them.
A bicycle maintenance session will be held in the school prior to 2nd February (date to be confirmed with Everest Cycles, please check homework notebooks).
Thank you to all families who have supported the W.O.W initiative, and if cycling isn't practical, please continue to walk.
And remember......
Be safe, be seen

Green
School Newsletter
At Bray School Project we have been working very hard to achieve
"Green School" status. In 2009 we received our third green flag under the theme water conservation. This follows our two previous flags awarded for energy conservation
and waste management.
This year we are hoping to receive our fourth green flag. The topic we have been working on for since September 2009 is Travel. With the help of pupils, parents, guardians and teachers, we have been trying our best to travel to and from school in more environmentally friendly way!
W.O.W days have proved a great success, with everyone walking, parking and striding, cycling, taking the bus and car-pooling.
Our "Golden Boot" is awarded each week to the class that has the most participants, and results are recorded on the Green School notice board.
This term, to celebrate the beginning of Spring and the welcome return of brighter mornings, the Green School Committee will be launching C.O.W days. Our launch will be Wednesday February 2nd 2011.
