Our Ethos

Bray School Project NS is an Educate Together primary school. We first opened our doors in September 1981 as the second Educate Together school in Ireland and have been providing equality-based education to the Bray community ever since.
Educate Together schools are guided by four core principles:
Equality-Based
Every child is welcomed and respected, regardless of their social, cultural, religious or family background. No child is treated as an outsider. We celebrate diversity and foster an environment where all children can learn, grow and belong.
Child-Centred
The child is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to provide a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where children are encouraged to develop their talents, interests, confidence and independence.
Co-Educational
As a co-educational school, children learn and grow together in an environment based on equality, inclusion and mutual respect. We recognise and celebrate the uniqueness of every child, encouraging all children to explore their interests, develop their talents and reach their full potential.

Democratically Run
Bray School Project NS was founded by parents who believed that every child deserved an equality-based education. That spirit of partnership remains central to our school today.

As an Educate Together school, we recognise that strong partnerships between home and school help children to thrive. While respecting the professional role of teachers and staff, we encourage active participation and shared responsibility in creating the best possible educational experience for all children.

Learn Together

Learn Together
As an Educate Together school, Bray School Project NS teaches the Learn Together curriculum. Learn Together is the ethical education curriculum developed by Educate Together and taught in all Educate Together primary schools.
Learn Together provides opportunities for children to explore values, beliefs, ethics, equality, justice, wellbeing and environmental responsibility in an inclusive and age-appropriate way. It encourages children to think critically, respect different perspectives, develop empathy and build positive relationships with others.
The curriculum is organised around four strands:
Moral & Spiritual
Children explore questions about themselves, their values, feelings, relationships, and sense of meaning and purpose. They are encouraged to reflect on what it means to live a good life and to make thoughtful, ethical decisions.
Equality & Justice
Children develop an understanding of human rights, fairness, diversity, inclusion and social justice. They learn to recognise and challenge prejudice and to value the dignity and worth of every person.
Belief Systems
Children learn about a range of religious and non-religious belief systems, traditions and worldviews. The emphasis is on developing understanding, respect and dialogue while recognising the diversity of beliefs within our communities and the wider world.
Ethics & the Environment
Children explore their relationship with the natural world and consider ethical issues relating to sustainability, environmental responsibility and stewardship. They are encouraged to take positive action to care for their environment and communities.
Through Learn Together, we aim to support children in becoming thoughtful, compassionate, informed and active members of society.
