First Class 2021-2022
'Concentric Circles' inspired by Wassily Kandinsky
The children really enjoyed creating their own version of the famous artwork 'Concentric circles' by Wassily Kandinsky. They used a variety of different oil pastels and white card. It is a lovely colourful display to have in the classroom.
The children were learning all about the different materials used to build our school. Armed with their clipboards and working collaboratively, they recorded the wide variety of materials used both inside the classroom and outside on the school building.
Autumn Nature Walk
The children went on a lovely nature walk all around the school building looking for signs of Autumn. They collected lots of different types of leaves, conkers, sycamore seeds and pine cones.
The children used some of the leaves that they collected on their nature walk for leaf printing. They carefully painted the backs of each leaf, pressed it down onto white paper and peeled it off to create some beautiful leaf prints.
Monster Clay Pinch Pots
As part of their Halloween art, the children made these fantastic Monster Clay Pinch Pots. They first moulded the clay into a round ball and then with their thumbs and fingers, they carefully pinched out the shape of the monsters. Then using the 'score & slip' technique, the children added eyeballs, fangs, tongues, horns etc, with each of them creating their own unique clay monster!
Brilliant costumes for our Halloween Parade - well done everybody!
