Welcome to the Third class web page! Here are some pictures of the activities and work we have done so far this year. We Hope you enjoy looking at them!
As part of our learning about the Jewish new year celebration of Rosh hashanna, we pressed apples to make juice. Eating apples and honey is part of this celebration.
We had great fun making a Mesolithic Stone Age hut. This slide show shows how we built it. We got willow branches and made a frame standing up. We weaved smaller branches in and out of this fame.
We worked as archaeologists in the classroom. We had to find artifacts hidden in the trays. We had to categorise and classify the artifacts we found.

This year we looked at Stone Age cave drawings and responded with our own drawings!
Here's how we made our pictures
First, we mixed sand with PVA glue and grey paint. Then we painted this on to card. When it dried it made a rough texture. Next, we painted over it with grey paint (with just a bit of paint on a thick brush). Finally, when the grey paint was dry we drew our pictures using chalk pastels. In February we celebrated Chinese New Year. We made Chinese masks for the parade around the school.
